Washington, DC, May 27, 2003 Compressus Inc., a leader in the development and licensing of technology for the acquisition, transmission, storage and analysis of digital media, is pleased to announce the appointment of George Mulopulos, M.D., Jay H. Sanders, M.D. and Dennis P. O'Geary to its Board of Advisors.
The addition of these outstanding new members to its Board of Advisors adds depth to Compressus' current executive leadership and provides the Company with some of the most experienced advisors in the field of digital medical imaging and advanced digital optimization software.
Dr. Mulopulos, an expert in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ("MRI"), brings to Compressus the highest level of expertise in medical imaging, with over twenty years of experience in radiology. Dr. Mulopulos is currently the Director of MRI for Desert Radiologists in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He is also a past President, Counselor and Alternate Counselor as well as current Secretary of the Nevada Chapter of the American College of Radiology. In addition, Dr. Mulopulos has published numerous papers on the topics of MRI and diagnostic radiology.
Jay H. Sanders, M.D., F.A.C.P. is President and CEO of the Global Telemedicine Group, Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University Medicine and a founding board member of the American Telemedicine Association. He has spent the majority of his career in the development and implementation of telecommunications and information technologies as a means of addressing health care issues. Dr Sanders is nationally renowned for his work in telemedicine and is a consultant to the Amery's Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center, the Air Force Center for Telehealth and Theater Informatics. He has served on the Department of Defense Telemedicine Board of Directors. He is also a Senior Consultant to NASA where he serves as member of the Biological and Physical Research Advisory Committee, as well as the Senior Science Advisor for the NASA Medical Informatics and Technology Applications Commercial Space Center. Dr. Sanders is currently a consultant to the Southern Governors' Task Force on Telehealth and Homeland Security focusing on bioterrorism defense. He designed the telemedicine system for the State of Georgia that interfaces with rural hospitals, public health facilities, correctional institutions, military bases and public school classrooms.
Dennis P. O'Geary is the President and CEO of The Knowledge Providers Group, LLC (KPG), an international tele-health consulting and program management firm. As an executive in systems integration focused in healthcare, he brings to Compressus extensive experience in tele-health, PACS, tele-radiology and tele-medicine solutions. Mr. O'Geary was instrumental in the formation and initial success of the U.S. distribution channels for RadWorks™, which is one of the world's most installed diagnostic reading software, now currently owned by GE. He was also played a key role in the coordination of the FDA approval of RadWorks™ for the U.S. market and the inclusion of RadWorks™ as one of the primary specifications for the DOD DINPACS I contract. Mr. O'Geary managed the initial deployment of the first integrated tele-medicine/tele-radiology solutions suite aboard the U.S. Navy capital ships as well as the initial deployment of DINPACS I solutions to the U.S. Navy, U.S. ARMY and U.S. Air Force with IBM.
Mr. O'Geary currently serves as an Advisor for the Council of Healthcare Advisors, and is a frequent speaker at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (ARHA) annual meetings.
